V-Khaoz said in an interview that the name of the band comes from the union of the (Swedish) words varg (wolf) and grav (grave). According to him, “Vargrav is the rest where a bestial wisdom lurks only to rise again.”

The name is also a palindrome with 7 letters. The number 7 is the number of complement. A number of time and space, representing wisdom, perfection, balance and immortality.

Nargaroth was formed from the ashes of a band called Exhuminenz in 1996 by Kanwulf, Charoon, and Darken, and the first recordings were completed in 1998 using a drum-machine. 

The alias "Kanwulf" came from a French book with old Scandinavian names, such as the more famous names like Arkwulf.

The name "Nargaroth" came from the word "Narg", as it stands for nature and Ash was strongly related to it, and Gorgoroth since Ash is a big fan of their Sorcery Written in Blood demo and Pentagram album.

Bonjour Tristesse is French for “hello sadness”.

The first pieces were written Bonjour Tristesse in the winter of 2008 by Nathanael. From summer to autumn 2009, six finished songs were recorded, which form the first full-length album “Par un sourire”. A live lineup was now found.

Bonjour Tristesse covers topics such as sadness, depression, anxiety, emptiness of distress, and dreams. But the force that can arise from such feelings and states.

The debut album “Par un sourire” was released in early 2011 about Selfmutilation services.

Bonjour Tristesse was founded by Nathaniel in the winter of 2008. From summer to autumn 2009 the first full length album “Par un sourire” which recorded at a live and studio recordings Forester line-up was found, too.

Bonjour Tristesse deals with sadness, depression, fear, emptiness and inner aggrieving dreams, but also with the strength, that can arise from those kind of feelings.

At the beginning of 2011 the debut album “Par un sourire” was released via Selfmutilation services.
